I began working in early childhood education in 1999 and joined Great Beginnings Pakenham in 2014. I bring many years of experience across a range of leadership roles within early learning. Since joining Great Beginnings Pakenham, I have worked as a Lead Educator, Educational Leader, Assistant Centre Manager, and now Centre Manager. Each role has given me the opportunity to develop new skills, explore different areas of the sector, and deepen my passion for ensuring children receive the best possible start to their education journey. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is seeing the growth and development of not only the children, but also the families and educators, over time.

During the toddler stage, children will learn mainly through relationships and through play. Play is crucial to your baby’s cognitive development as they develop the ability to think, understand and communicate. Your child explores through play by experimenting, creating, and thinking. Playing with your toddler builds the relationship with your child, by supporting them and providing them with a safe space to explore and learn. One day, my child came home explaining how the sun and moon work together. Watching group time has been a core memory for me, her confidence is blooming.
The program supports early scientific understanding while fostering confidence, independence, and a love of learning through exploration. Children develop a strong sense of identity as they feel safe, secure and supported, building confidence, resilience and a positive sense of self. Through group activities, conversations and play, children learn to interact with others with care, empathy and respect, building positive relationships and friendships. Our program builds life skills through daily routines that promote problem-solving, communication, independence, and teamwork.
Our programs are designed to be emergent in nature and are guided by the children’s interests. What I love most about this field is the opportunity to build strong, meaningful relationships with children, families, and educators. I believe that a child’s early years are the most important, and that every child deserves a safe, inclusive, and inspiring space where they can feel confident, capable, and connected. I am passionate about creating environments that support each child’s individual learning style, interests, and wellbeing. Our toddler room is set up with intentional play-based learning in mind. Within the curriculum framework, play enables your toddler to develop fundamental skills for life-long learning.
