Discover Classes for Adult & Kids in Sydney Art

We accept enrolments at any time during the year and you are welcome to attend a free trial class. We regularly display student work on our gallery page and encourage students to exhibit what they’ve created, not just to show their progress, but to celebrate their creativity and effort. My kid has been attending this drawing and arts class for a few terms. The instructor is a great artist, well experienced, soft and patient with the kids. They span across disciplines, from traditional canvas painting to messy play, punch needle art, shibori dyeing or kids school holiday. No matter which area you’d like to explore, you can be sure that there’ll be a workshop and teacher to show you the ropes in our art school.
Art classes at Flying Fox Studios are run on an opt-in basis for each new term (bookings don't automatically carry over from one term to the next). Their DIY woodworking class (P5,000, ~USD89.76) lets you learn how to measure, cut, and nail wood— all by hand using affordable non-powered tools such as a hammer, drill press, and hand saw. Knowing this, you’ll get to create wooden crafts without investing money in pricey power tools. If woodworking is already a hobby for you, Wood Academy’s website also offers tools and materials that you can browse through for your personal projects. You’ll learn about the different uses of power tools and how to use them safely.
Although there are already a lot of do-it-yourself (DIY) tutorials online, crafting with wood can still be challenging when you’re just starting out. This is why  the Wood Academy in Quezon City offers basic woodworking classes (P4,500, ~USD80.79) up to numerous advanced classes (P8,050, ~USD144.51). If you’ve ever heard of and loved The Drip Bear kits that became popular some time in 2023, then visiting the Dream Art studio in Makati should be your next trip out. By the end of the program, each student will have completed a finished portrait ready for submission to the Young Archie competition. This experience not only provides an opportunity to showcase their skills on a prestigious platform but also encourages them to express their individuality and creativity, celebrating their unique artistic voices. Throughout the term, students will study the styles and techniques of renowned Australian artists, including Margaret Olley and Brett Whiteley. They will learn how to use intricate detail and storytelling, bold and expressive compositions, and vibrant, symbolic designs to bring their portraits to life.
Please call the office if you wish to use a creative kids voucher to redeem kids holiday workshops or courses. No credit is given for missed classes for the cost of enrolment in subsequent terms. Missed classes cannot be given to friends, or family, of an enrolled student. Different art lecturers have different approaches to teaching art. I try to be flexible, so as to allow the student to develop their individual approach, while still developing skills. Students can initiate their own projects to work on, or the lecturer can set specific exercises and tasks.
